Andrew “AJ” Gray
Pro Soccer Player
Andrew “AJ” Gray, a former pro soccer player with 8 years under his belt, has a great passion and drive to help shape, mentor, and guide athletes who want to achieve their dreams, in and out of sport. This mindset and wherewithal make AJ a welcome addition as a Won For All Managing Member.
AJ’s road to a pro soccer career was by no means traditional, nor linear in its path. After a brief assignment with TFC in 2007, he had many moments of wondering if his dream of playing soccer at a professional level would ever come to fruition, but he continuously picked himself up, worked hard, and ended up having a career that spanned over 8 years, with stints overseas (Oulun Palloseura, FC Hakka) and more recently in North America (Phoenix Rising & Vaughan Azzuri); He also represented Canada on a national level, on numerous occasions. AJ now shares his story with other young athletes as a motivational tool to let them know that even though they may encounter temporary defeat, there will always be a second chance – you just need to strive for it.
Since hanging up his cleats, AJ founded ARG Academy. ARG came to be when AJ noticed there was such a difference between coaching practices and approaches overseas and back home in NA, so ARG bridges those differences by offering a hybrid coaching style that offers players the best of both worlds, in both an individual or group environment. He also works for The Golfi Team (Re/Max) in the capacity of Inside Sales Specialist.
AJ holds a BA in Business of Commerce from St. Francis Xavier University (where he was also a member of their soccer team) and is currently enrolled in the Masters of Management, Innovation & Technology program at the Smith School of Business (at Queen’s University)
